Hi everyone, my name is Paul and I’m a recovering sex addict. I’ve been managing my addiction for two years.

Paul McNeill loves sex.  Good sex. Bad sex. Oral sex.  Any kind of sex.  You name it; he loves it.  But Paul’s biggest passion is his greatest flaw.  As a recovering sex addict, he’s been abstaining and managing his addiction for over two years.  Now, all the wants is to fall in love and find that certain someone he can settle down with.

But when he finds himself on his knees on Elle Jacoby’s damp lawn, he knows there’s going to be trouble.  Elle quickly becomes Paul’s biggest challenge yet.  She’s instantly set him ablaze while he begs to be hosed down. As he gets to know her more, the flames burn even hotter.

How can he resist a hot divorcee who’s amped up to have all the fun she’s missed?

Warning: For mature audiences only. If you don’t like graphic sex, sex talk and curse words in books this story isn’t for you.

“Elle, have you ever considered that the whole bunch of men looking to hook-up on Tinder could be bad apples?”

      “You’re so funny!”

      “I’m not joking,” I say.

“Seriously Paul, I’ve decided to throw myself back into the game.”

“But Tinder’s not really a game, Elle . . . it’s more like the mosh pit. What if you get head butted again?”

“I’ve realized the mistake I made. This time I’m going to spell it out to the dude before we get to the sexing.”

      “Spell it out, huh?”

“Yeah, no weird stuff like latex or furry suits. No demeaning talk or behavior. No bondage. No threesomes.”

      “Or foursomes?” I ask.

       “Ewww, no!” she says.

“Are you trying to make me feel bad?”

       “What? No, why?”

“I told you about my foursome.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I forgot about that. That was when you were a man-whore.”

“Yes, thanks, although I prefer the term ‘sex fiend’.”

“Well . . . that’s still what you told me.”

“I did. So see, I’m the very guy you wouldn’t want to sleep with.”

        “Ummm.”

“Yet, you pretty much asked me to screw you when we met. Do you see how complicated this is?”

“Can I ask you something, Paul?

“Sure, why not? You know so much about me already.”

“Did you do men too back during your sex fiend days?”

I almost drop the phone. “Sex with dudes? No! Why would you ask that?”

“So your orgy was really just you and a bunch of women. Did you have a harem or something?”

       “I could have.”

She huffs into the phone. “Oh really? A harem? What if you’re making all this stuff up? Why should I believe you and all your big talk?”

“If you don’t believe me, I don’t care. It doesn’t change anything.”

“What if you made up all those sexy stories . . . like that you were addicted to sex. What if you’re really more like your accountant brother?”

I feel the vein pop out on my forehead. Why is she screwing with me?

“I know what this is about,” I whisper in a dark voice.

      “Oh yeah? What’s that?”

“You’re provoking me, trying to get me to come over there and fuck you and break my oath. Well, it’s not going to happen.”

      “Good!”

      “Yup, good.”

“Because you know what, mister? You don’t fit into my profile anyway.”

“Oh that’s rich. You must have one hell of a profile.”

“Well look at you. You’re searching for a little complacent wifey who will roast your chicken and birth you a bevy of babies.”

“Roast my chicken? What’s that a metaphor for?”

      “It’s not a metaphor, it’s dinner.”

I roll my eyes. “You’re pretty weird, you know.”

“And you don’t want to fuck anymore and nothing’s weirder than that . . . so who’s calling the kettle black?”

“Who says I don’t want to fuck? I never said that. I want it.”

      “Really?”

“Sure.” I want it bad. So bad it hurts, but I don’t tell her that.

“So it’s that you just don’t want to fuck me?”

“Oh, I want to fuck you. Right now I want to throw you on the bed and ride you so hard you won’t be able to walk the next day.”

There’s a long silent pause. Maybe that was too much.

“Ms. Jacoby, are you still there?”

“I’m here, Paul Junior. I’m just distracted thinking about you throwing me on the bed.”

       “And mounting you?”

       “Yes.”

       I hear a soft moan.

       “And fucking you hard?”

       “God, yes.”

“So you really want that, do you?”

“You’re cruel. Are you going to make me beg for it?”

      “Maybe.”

“Please . . . Paul, are you touching yourself? Because I am.”

      I pause.

      “Maybe.”

      “Mmm.”

Book Review: Maldeamores (Lovesick) by Mara White

Screen Shot 2015-06-23 at 21.45.57One word describes Mara White’s Maldeamores (Lovesick): heartbreaking. Lucky and Bey’s story pulls at you–challenging you because their love is forbidden, yet making you empathise with them because their love is like an addiction, an illness they can never overcome. So why is their love forbidden? Luciano (also known as Lucky) and Belén (AKA Bey) are cousins, growing up together in the Heights. What starts as familial love becomes romantic love, even when both know that nothing can ever come of it…

Mara White never disappoints–she takes on controversial subjects (this time: incest) and weaves wonderfully written stories that smoulder and pull at your emotions. This is an emotionally-driven story that’s tight, erotic and challenging. A tightly written page turner, you’ll get sucked into this story and it won’t let you go until the very end. As much as I knew Lucky and Bey’s love would tear them apart, I longed for them to find happiness. It’s the sort of love story that leave you ragged, that makes you want what you know you cannot have…

This is not a book for everyone–but if you’re willing to give yourself over to Mara White’s sensational storytelling, you won’t regret the experience. Maldeamores (Lovesick) challenges what is love, what is acceptable in society, and how love can destroy you…

And I loved every minute of it.

Review: Kilted for Pleasure by Melissa Blue

Screen Shot 2015-06-03 at 06.22.02A few months ago, I bumped into Melissa Blue on Facebook. I don’t remember if it was in one of the promotion groups or during a release party, but I do remember seeing the cover for one of the books from her Under the Kilt series and deciding I should check it out.

I started with the first book in the series, Under His Kilt, which was sexy fun and perfect for reminding me why I like Scotland and Scottish men like Ewan McGregor so much. Jocelyn and Ian had great chemistry and the story of a woman with a bucket list and exploring her fantasies with someone who should have been off-limits was a page turner. 😉 Ditto Her Insatiable Scot. Loved the set-up of the former con man Tristan (who just happens to be Ian’s brother) and the shy Keri (who just happens to be Jocelyn’s cousin) and what happens when they have to pretend to be Ian and Jocelyn to help them get the house of their dreams was another plump dollop of sexy, funny frothiness that made me laugh and cheer for a couple who were obviously meant for each other.

It didn’t take long for me to move on to Kilted for Pleasure. This time the story moves on to Callan, Ian and Tristan’s cousin, and Victoria, who works for Ian, and what happens during the three months that Victoria is in Scotland. Ian has sent her there to convince Callan to help work on restoring and repairing some antiques. And the last thing that Callan wants is to be distracted by a woman he thinks could still be wet behind the ears. And Victoria? Well, she’s been burned in the past by a man she trusted and she’s cut love out of her life.

Of the three books in the series, Kilted for Pleasure was my absolute favorite. Why? I love a story with good characterisation and deep point of view. And we get that in Kilted for Pleasure. Melissa takes us deep into both Callan and Victoria so we get a great sense of who they are and *why* they are this way without simply telling us. She shows us. Add to the mix the loveable cad, Douglass Baird–also known as the Baird–the patriarch of the Baird clan–who assumes the role of our unlikely Cupid.

You’ve got to love a book featuring a sexy, brooding Scotsman. Kilted for Pleasure is not just a sexy summer read, it’s a story about two people who’ve given up on love and who are afraid to give themselves emotionally to one another. Instead of admitting what’s in their hearts, they focus on pleasuring one another–even when they both know there are consequences. Throughout the novel, there’s so much sexual tension and release but there’s also a hell of a lot of soul-searching as these two very flawed characters traverse an emotional minefield. Neither wants to admit their feelings, yet both are falling love. And for Callan especially this is torture (in a good way) since he’s still dealing with the death of his wife. And I think that’s one of the most interesting aspects of Kilted for Pleasure (even if I do love reading about sexy Scotsmen)–not only are we watching a man fall in love, not only are we peeling away the layers of his rough and ready image, we’re experiencing the guilt and turmoil he feels as he tries to hold Victoria at bay (though he cannot stay away from her since he’s so drawn to her) and come to grips with the realisation that loving Victoria does not mean he is betraying his deceased wife.

Are there frustrating moments? Of course there are! And that’s why we love sexy rom-com. Will you fall in love with Callan? Yup! Will Victoria drive you insane even as you’re cheering you on? Yup! Will you want to go to Scotland even though you know it will be chilly and rainy during the summer? Indeed! 😉

Fun, sexy and set in Scotland. Loved it!

Review: Love Reality by Nana Malone

Screen Shot 2015-03-21 at 20.29.45Nana Malone‘s Love Reality is the second book in her The Donovans series and it’s a fun, sexy read. The book revolves around my favourite hate object–reality dating shows–and what happens when two rival dating bloggers end up as contestants on the show. Mia, whose blog Lonely Girl is gaining success, is cast as Cinderella for the show while Ryan, whose blog Single Guy teaches men how to woo women with romantic games, is snared as one of the Prince Charmings set to win Mia’s heart reality TV style. There just one catch: they know each other already. Mia thinks she hates Ryan. Ryan’s only agreed to be on the show to write an exposé. But one thing goes without denying–the chemistry between them is smoking hot.

Love Reality is a great page turner that’s funny and sexy with characters whose backstory pulls you in. Though you think you’re going to hate Ryan, you end up developing a bit of a crush on him. And Mia’s past as a foster child and how it still affects her makes her an interesting character study.

Lots of sexy scenes and oodles of chemistry, so perfect for people who like their romance extra hot.

Lana Finch is a twenty-five-year-old social worker. She believes wholeheartedly in saving the world—one broken kid at a time. Lana is headstrong, she’s righteous and she’ll let nothing stand in her way. Except for maybe her entire family that’s financially dependent on her.
Enter Mozey Cruz, the eighteen-year-old juvenile delinquent assigned to her charge. He’s an illusive artist, he’s misunderstood, and he’s a natural born troublemaker.
Their love is illegal, much like Mozey’s undocumented status in the States. So Lana lets him go even though it might be the worst mistake she’ll ever make.
But destiny has a way of catching up with us even when we run from it.
Los Angeles————

Tijuana————

But first, Lana has to find him before she can deliver him…

DELIVERTYEXCERPT
I squeeze his hand again. I scrutinize every little point of contact between our two bodies. My ear on his shoulder, and my thigh flush with his. The length of my arm matching up with the length of Mozey’s, and my wrist, grazing lightly with his calf as we sit. My skin is pale, like the underbelly of a fish. His is warm, like hot chocolate with milk. I want to drink it, to swallow all of that velvet. I want it to melt on my tongue and warm me all the way up from the inside out.

Then they’re gone, the door is closed, and my arms cross across my chest. Mozey has one hand in the pocket of his jeans the other palm flat against the back of the door. Those two boys were my protection. My buffers. I feel naked without them. Suddenly, Mozey, looms larger. Almost larger than life.

“Are you hungry?” he asks me.

I couldn’t be more satisfied. I can’t believe I found you. That you’re standing here in front of me.

I shake my head at him as he saunters over to me. I remember that he’s confident, that he’s sexual, that he probably knows more than me.

“We can take it slow, Lana. We don’t have to fuck.”

It’s a jolt when he says it, a live thrash of wire. Saying it, it means he’s thinking about it. I know that I am. Maybe he thinks it’s what I want to do. Or he thinks I don’t so he feels he has to clear the air by saying it out loud.

Sex. I’ve been thinking about it since the minute I met you—whenever I’m around you. Thinking dirty thoughts when I was supposed to be protecting you. My face falls, and my shoulders slump. All of the vixen has run out of me.

“Or we can if you want.” It’s his smile that gets me, so warm and inviting. He’s confident with either choice, whether we do or we don’t. He’s enjoying teasing me, and he knows how hard I’ve been looking for him.

“Come here,” he says and pulls my elbows apart, inserting his body in the space that I was trying to protect—my chest, my breasts, the area surrounding my heart.

“I’ve always thought you were beautiful, Lana. But you never wanted to hear it,” he says, his nose tickling my ear. He pulls my arms around him and sets them at his waist. I am a robot. I can’t speak. I have no feelings.

“Maybe you should sleep on the couch,” I say, stepping out of his hold.

If magic were a good thing, then we would all be able to wield it against the one we love.

Hypnotize with eye contact, unravel with a stare. But instead, magic is dangerous, it makes us see what isn’t there. It makes us believe in illusions and in fleeting apparitions that will never be concrete. I need something that can last, not something that will disappear into thin air.

I loved you because I wanted to save you. And I thought if I saved everyone, then it said something about me. I wanted to be worthy. I didn’t want to be bad. I always felt that badness was an inextricable part of me. I became a social worker to try to exorcise the ugly part of me.

Of course I don’t say this out loud. I explain myself to myself in my head. Like an idiot. Like the insecure, crazy girl that I am.

Mozey runs his hands through his hair and looks sadly at me. He nods his head and massages his chin with his thumb and forefinger then looks down at the floor.

“There’s not one single part of me that isn’t complicated—that’s easy to love,” I blurt out, trying to explain away being so difficult. This is the one thing I can’t fuck up and live to regret it.

“I already know that. I want every part of you.”

If there is something I need to hear, well, Mozey just said it. But I’ll still always be a disappointment. I will never be perfect, and for some reason, what I really want to bring to this is perfection.

“I feel like you’re going to keep pushing me away, even if it hurts you. Should I give up? You want me to stop trying?”

I nod my head “yes,” like the fucking liar that I am. I’m nodding and nodding while every inch of my flesh is screaming, “See through me, don’t believe me, please know that I want you, don’t believe anything that she says.”

Mozey yanks his t-shirt up over his head. Two long silver chains clang together as they bounce on his chest. There he is in all of his perfection, his chest tight with emotion, his arm muscles flexed in defensiveness, his brow furrowed in confusion. I’m shaking, with trembles running up and down my spine, splaying out through my limbs into my hands and my feet. What I want is right in front of me but somehow it seems even further out of reach.

Blog Tour/Guest Post: No Ordinary Love by Kenya Wright

No Ordinary Love (3)

Interracial Romance is a fine art.

The beauty is in the differences.

The hero is unique from the heroine.

Yet, their dissimilar backgrounds, races, and cultures, don’t break them.

The differences are the heat that sparks the fire.

These are one of the reasons why I write interracial romance.

Plus, when I read, I go on vacation.

When I escape, I want a world that I’ve never seen, filled with characters that can teach me things I’ve never knew.

Presently, there aren’t enough diverse characters in the romance genre.

So I write what I want to read.
Other times,
the story simply calls for two characters from dissimilar ethnic groups.

In my novel, No Ordinary Love, I have a black heroine writing a book in Tokyo, Japan.

Choosing a Japanese hero was an obvious decision, and was one of the best parts of writing that novel.

But in the end,
and seriously,
I’m embarrassed to say this as a writer.

Most romance writers pretend like this isn’t true. . .
that they aren’t secretly sleeping with their heroes every night. . .

I confess!

I’m having sex with all of my heroes.

I’m humping the world!

I’m going after all the hot men in every country,
and so. . .
I’ll be writing tons of interracial romance!

About the Book

No Ordinary Love (1)Debt-ridden author Nyomi must complete her book on Tokyo’s underground sex industry in order to revive her stalled career. But first, she needs to get permission from Kenji, head of the Japanese mafia who controls the red light district under his father’s watchful eyes. With one meeting, Kenji traps Nyomi in his gaze and locks her into a deal—spend time with him during her three-week stay, and she will earn the access she needs in order to make her book a best seller.

But Kenji’s plans for Nyomi not only include allowing her a look around, but also a first-hand taste of the kinds of things that go on behind closed doors. And if Nyomi isn’t careful, she just might find herself falling for Kenji, a man with many demons and a passion so dark, it could change everything you think you know about love.

No Ordinary Love is a dark erotic romance from bestselling erotica author Kenya Wright.

Excerpt

“I know Selina can be stubborn,” Chris said after moments of silence while the men drank. “But is she refusing to take the bracelet back?”
“No. She wants it. But I can’t give it back to her until she knows everything about my past. I can’t trust that she won’t throw it at me when she finds out what my life was really like.” Ben sighed, giving in briefly to the fear of what it would do to his heart if she spurned him again.
“I don’t blame you,” Kenny said, sympathy lacing his words.
“Shit,” Chris muttered under his breath.
His friends understood his predicament. They were dominant men. Although Chris wasn’t in a committed relationship, he had dated Selina before Benjamin met her. Kenny on the other hand had been married once. Still, they both understood his need for Selina, his overwhelming desire to have her submission.
She was a beam of light shining on the darkness that had lived in his soul since he was a teenager. He loved her. Wanted to possess her like no one ever did.
As a man who made a living from protecting others, no one drew out his protective instincts like Selina did. And he would make sure she was protected no matter the cost to him. If it meant taking down Tony Kana, he would do it in a
heartbeat.
“I want to know everything Tony Kana does from now on. If he as much as sneezes, I want to hear about it.” Ben tossed the rest of his drink down his throat as the need to be with his wife overwhelmed him. He stood and headed toward the
door.
“You’ve got it.” Kenny nodded as he stood too.
“Thank you,” Ben said before punching the button to call the elevator.  Chris stepped inside with him when the door
opened.
“Why are you so bent on tracking this guy?” his best friend asked. “Is there something I should know?” Ben had
asked Kenny, who had contacts in West Africa, to help him find Tony Kana but he’d never really explained to his friends why.
“Kana is Selina’s ex-husband,” he said in a matter of fact tone.
“And?” His friend understood him too well.
“He’s the reason she has body issues.”
“Body issues?” Chris’s face puckered in a frown.
“When you dated her, did you ever get to see her full unclothed?”
His friend’s dark brows drew together. “No. She always insisted on having those corsets on. They were damn sexy so I never minded. Although once I walked into the bathroom while she was in the shower and she nearly screamed the place
down because she wanted me to get out.”
Benjamin closed his eyes and sucked in a breath to stave off his rising anger. “Her abdomen is covered in scars. Someone cut her up pretty badly.”
“Kana?” Chris growled the question.
“No.” Ben opened his eyes and stared at his friend. He could see his anger reflected in his friend’s eyes. “But he might as well have wielded the knife himself. He handed Selina over to the militia who wanted to use her as a sex slave. She fought back and they mutilated her for disobedience.”
“And all you want to do is watch this guy? I want to put a bullet right between his eyes.”
“Selina doesn’t want any more bloodshed. I have to respect her wishes. Doesn’t mean I can’t take the guy down another way.”
“Right.” Chris nodded. “He has to pay.”
“Oh, he’s going to pay. No doubt about that.”
They entered the bar and loud music erased the need for further conversation.

He will damn his soul to set hers free.

When workaholic high-flying career lawyer Tara Woji takes a well deserved break and meets up with old friends she doesn’t realise the danger lurking in the shadows for her. M’na is a chi, a gatekeeper whose duty is to protect the humans. Tara is his assignment. As the shadows deepen and darkness comes to claim her, he will do whatever it takes to protect her including doing the one thing that releases her powers – unbinding her heart.

Prologue

M’na lounged in the worn foam armchair, thighs apart, legs stretched out, right hand clutching a short tumbler of whisky. Lord of the Ring posters covered up blue paint peeling off the brick walls.

Ironic really, the first time he was going to have sex in a millennium and he’d chosen a demon, with a love for fantasy movies, who lived in a part of the city that could’ve been Mordor.

Desperation flowed in his veins, making him feverish. Sweat dripped down his face. His t-shirt clung to his back, a second skin. He tightened his grip on the glass to stop his hand from shaking and lifted it to his lips.

The strong liquor burned his throat as he tossed the whole shot down. Thumped the glass back onto the small table and refilled it from the bottle.

One of the advantages, or disadvantages depending on how one chose to look at it, of being a super, alcohol had no effect in normal quantities.

But he liked the sting of whisky at the back of his throat and in his chest. It made him feel alive. Something he hadn’t felt in a very long time.

Shame it couldn’t numb the pain searing his soul, his constant companion.
