In case you’re wondering about the creepy penguin, I thought this little guy could stare at me and remind me to keep working on Maybe Baby instead of the usual distractions–like the latest batch of handbags on J.Crew’s website or pondering whether I should give in to my teenage obsession with John Taylor from Duran Duran and order his autobiography, In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death and Duran Duran. So far, the penguin is working. And since I like penguins, it’s good to have a creepy-looking one urging me on.
So, as the title of today’s post suggests, I am on target. I’m writing Chapter Two of Maybe Baby and will start Chapter Three soon. I’ve been able to meet my daily 1667 word-count target and the story is beginning to take life and even go in directions I hadn’t really planned. I love when that happens! I love letting the story unfold the way it wants to instead of trying to force it to do my bidding. I try to stick to the outline just enough so that I finish but I am not a slave to the outline in any way.
But this post wasn’t meant to go into details about how I write, it was meant to let you know that I’ve updated my Nanowrimo 2012 page here on kimtalksbooks. You can know read a synopsis of Maybe Baby and check out Chapter One in all its rough, unedited glory.
Happy reading (and writing)!
